Index to Leavenworth, WA
Hey guys! What a day yesterday was. If you're wondering at all what possessed us to do this bike ride across America, don't worry, we are too. The moment we stepped out on Sunday to head for a tire dip at Puget Sound, it started to rain. I believe my words to Ben in the first fifteen minutes after leaving the water were "I'm cold, wet and scared." It's true! And in the first two days we climbed almost 7,000 feet up out of Seattle and over the Cascade Mountains. Needless to say, we're feeling a little sore; ice definitely came in handy. The scenery, though, is another story (fantastic, really), and we've already met some incredibly kind people along the way.
Today is a rest day (meaning we'll only do about 25 miles)--send us positive energy and let's hope it's recovery enough before we head east to the Idaho Rockies!
